Tax Cuts and Jobs Act

You will be looking at the tax reform bill passed last year. It is officially referred to as the “Tax Cuts and Jobs Act”.

Your submission should include 3 parts:

1. A summary of the bill.

2. Pick one specific proposal and discuss the long term and short term impacts.

3. Pick one of the following:

A. Read two articles, one in support of the bill (or at least most of it) and one against it and summarize each. These should be articles with legitimate economic analysis, not unsubstantiated opinions. Who do you side with and why?

B. Read two articles analyzing the impact the of bill so far, either one particular part/issue, or the bill as a whole. Discuss at least two topics, include a summary and your opinion for each.

It does not have to be super long or written like a paper, you can use outline, bullet points etc. if you prefer. It just needs to be clear, concise and display your understanding of concepts from class.
